Set in the heart of a lush coastal rainforest, a short stroll from Cape Tribulation's beach and its famous mangrove boardwalks, Ferntree Rainforest Lodge offers an affordable tropical getaway for eco-explorers. Ferntree Rainforest Lodge offers a range of accommodation starting from student/youth accommodation at the Jungle Lodge which enjoys a swimming pool, public kitchen, BBQ area, laundry, bar and entertainment area. A short walk through the forest are 20 garden loft rooms spread amongst the manicured lawns and tropical gardens of the property. Garden lofts are the ideal choice for the budget conscious family offering a home away from home retreat. Ferntree Lodge also offers 8 poolside rooms offering a private balcony overlooking the pool, suitable for couples. Just a short walk from Ferntree you'll find the local 'village' consisting of a shop, chemist and bar.

Driving Info:

A popular option from Cairns is the scenic 3 hour drive to Cape Tribulation. The road is sealed and many rental car companies allow ordinary cars (two wheel drive) to travel to Cape Tribulation, however it is recommended to check with the hire company.
The Daintree River Ferry runs from 6:00am to 11:00pm daily and current charges are approximately AUD10.00 per two wheel and four wheel drive vehicle each way. As the ferry does not commence operation until 6:00am each day, the earliest transfer to Cairns Airport departs from Cape Tribulation Resort at 7:30am which means guests will be able to catch an 11:00am flight at the earliest.
The last ferry from Daintree to Cape Tribulation is at 11:00pm which means the latest flight clients can book to arrive into Cairns is 8:00pm, as it takes approximately 3 hours self drive to get to the Daintree. If client's flight is running late, they will have to stay overnight in either Cairns or Daintree. Ferntree Rainforest Lodge recommend clients book flight around these ferry times to ensure the last ferry is not missed.
