It's an easy drive up famous Seventy-Five Mile Beach to see the mighty sand blows, coloured sands, Eli Creek spilling into the ocean, the Maheno shipwreck, Indian Head and the Champagne Pools.
Close by are the rainforests around Pile Valley and Central Station and beautiful, fresh-water lakes with white sandy beaches, which include McKenzie, Birrabeen and Wabby.

Driving Info:
Access to the resort is by 4WD vehicle only. A 4WD Driving Permit is required and can be purchased at an extra charge from the Vehicle Barge ticket huts.
Transfer Info:
A vehicle barge operates from River Heads and Inskip Point. Barge transfers are an extra charge, payable direct.
From River Heads:
- A vehicle barge departs daily from River Heads (20 minutes south of Hervey Bay, north of Maryborough) to Wanggoolba Creek:
Departs River Heads: 9:00am, 10:15am, 3:30pm.
Departs Wanggoolba Creek: 9:30am, 2:30pm, 4:00pm.
From Inskip Point:
- Fraser Explorer vehcile barge departs on demand between 7:00am and 5:00pm from Inskip Point (near Rainbow Beach via Gympie) to Hook Point (southern point of Fraser Island). Please arrive 20 minutes prior to departure time.
